TCC (Transparency, Consent and Control)
The macOS framework that decides which programs may use privacy-sensitive resources such as the camera, screen, input, protected folders and other apps.
Transparency, Consent and Control (TCC) is the macOS framework that gates access to privacy-sensitive resources: camera, microphone, Screen Recording, Input Monitoring, Accessibility, protected folders, Full Disk Access and Apple Events automation. When a program asks for one of them, the daemon tccd prompts the user, applies a policy or refuses, and records the decision in TCC.db.
For investigators, TCC is where a program's capabilities become visible: what it was allowed to do, since when, and on whose decision. It does not record each use. See TCC.db forensics: the investigator's guide.
